Our web site is for the people like ourselves. There are no real estate brokers among us and this allows us to look at many things like you do. Having been owners of a sizeable business in Russia and having travelled extensively as tourists, including to destinations considered mainstream for the Russian travelers (France, Italy, UAE, etc), we recently become owners of real estate in the Dominican Republic. Each of us had different motives or a mix of these motives.

For some of us this was an opportunity to diversify investments. In the Dominican Republic there are no restrictions for the purchase of real estate by foreigners. The process and the regulation of purchase of real estate are simple and transparent. Many Dominican notaries were educated in the US and have international reputation. Outside of Russia there are not many places like the Dominican Republic with such a stable growth in real estate prices, expected to continue for the next 5-7 years.

For some of us this was an opportunity to expose our children to a multi-language and internationalized environmental. Local Dominican schools educate children from the US, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and other countries. By the age of 5 children can be fluent at 2-3 languages. The school certificates are accepted by universities in the US and Europe.

For others it was an opportunity to reach balance between business and health. The Dominican Republic is a country of unique all-year-around warm climate. It does not get too hot here (maximum temperature in August reaches 33) and is never cold. The coldest weather you’ll encounter is 18-19 degrees in the morning in the winter time. Humidity (especially during night) ensures the country’s nature is rich in vegetation and is very picturesque. The country offers many opportunities for recreational and sporting activities: surfing and kite surfing, golf, horse riding, tennis and others. And if you are not a fan of sports, you can simply enjoy walking along endless breezy unobstructed beach fronts. All year around there is abundance of fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables. Perhaps the key attraction in the Dominican Republican – is the atmosphere of absolute relaxation and friendliness: you never hear a voice or see a face that convey irritation or coldness.

Perhaps there are places in the world similar to the Dominican Republic but most likely such places are indeed remote and too different from the environment to which we are used. Another unique feature of the Dominican Republic is its proximity to the United States with its globally renowned metropolises just a few hours away by plane.
